DELIVERY, PICKUP & SHIPPING POLICIES
Cavalier Computers is proud to offer you the most competitive shipping rates. All of our shipments are professionally packed to ensure the safety of your items in route.
On average, your order will be received in 7 - 10 working days. During August and December, delivery time may take longer.
Pickup and delivery
In-Store Pickup — Available to all customers. Once the order is available the customer is notified that their order is available for pickup. Pickup is available during business hours.
Curbside Pickup — Available to all customers. Once the order is available the customer is notified with instructions on how to proceed with Curbside Pickup
Electronic Delivery — This is for select software only. Once the software is available you will receive an email with the links and codes that are needed for activation of the software. This is not available for all software.
Departmental Delivery — Available for Departments only. Once the order is available Cavalier Computers will deliver the order to the Department on grounds.
UPS Shipping — Available to Departments and UVA Alumni only. Once the order is available Cavalier Computers will ship the order to the location designated by the Department or by the UVA Alumni. Shipping charges apply.

All Refunds & Exchanges Must Be Accompanied By A Receipt & I.D.
Refunds and Exchanges
Returns and exchanges can be made on non-custom-built products within 7 days of purchase, when accompanied by the original receipt or packing list, in like new condition, with all original package contents. Credit will be applied to your original method of payment (Credit Card, Department Charge, etc.). Software is non-returnable unless defective and may only be exchanged for the same title.
Special Order Returns
Special Order merchandise (i.e. items not normally stocked by Cavalier Computers) can be returned within one week of the purchase date when accompanied by the original receipt or packing list, in new condition, and in its original packaging. Cavalier Computers will charge a 15% restocking fee plus any shipping charge associated with returning the merchandise to the manufacturer.
Special Order Returns for Custom-built Dell, Apple Computers, and Lenovo Computers
Custom-built (CTO)Dell, Apple, and Lenovo computers are not eligible for return. We can only accept returns for Dell, Apple, and Lenovo custom-built computers for the following reasons:
Restocking Fee
Special orders (i.e. items not normally stocked by Cavalier Computers),televisions, may be returned for a full refund minus a 15% restocking fee and any shipping fee back to the manufacturer. Restocking fee does not apply to defective, DOA, or unopened stocked items, within the 7 day return/ exchange policy.
Return Policy Exclusions
Sale merchandise, batteries, opened ink cartridges, opened toner cartridges, paper, Student Licensed Software, Departmental Software Licenses, fees for repair service, parts used for service repair work performed, AC adaptors, consumables and clearance merchandise.
Warranty Repair
For those brands or manufacturers that Cavalier Computers Service Department has been authorized to provide warranty service; we can perform service following the warranty guidelines established by the manufacturer. For those items that we are not authorized to provide warranty service; the customer must follow the guidelines, procedures, and protocols by the manufacturer to obtain service. The manufacturer’s warranty is in place once the 7-day return or exchange privilege has expired.

Software is non-returnable unless defective and may only be exchanged for the same title. For your protection, we recommend that you use UPS, FedEx or Insured Parcel Post for shipment. Please enclose a printed document with the reason for the return along with the packing slip or the order number inside the box. Ship all returns to the following address:

You may cancel orders for unshipped items by sending an email to cavcomp@virginia.edu. You must include the full name on the order, the address, phone number (for cancellation confirmation only), and the order number.
Refunds
When we have received and processed the returned item we will notify you via e-mail of your refund/exchange. Please note that shipping costs are not refundable. Credit will be applied to your original method of payment (Credit Card or Department Charge).
Special Order Returns
Custom built items (such as computers, servers, storage solutions) are subject to the manufacturers returns policy. If eligible for return will refunded the full amount of the purchase minus a 15% restocking fee and any shipping fee back to the manufacturer.
Return Policy Exclusions
Sale merchandise, clearance items, opened ink cartridges, opened toner cartridges, paper, student licensed software, departmental licensed software, fees for repair service, custom built Apple computers, Dell computers, Lenovo computers, and parts used for service repair work performed are not returnable.
Exchange Policy
You may exchange non custom-built products you purchased from our website within 7 days of receipt. Please include your packing slip or order number along with your merchandise, and all original packaging. Please indicate what item(s) you would like in exchange for the item(s) you are returning. Additional shipping will be charged unless the original product is defective.
